Congratulations to our students for their dedication and hard work in “The Nutcracker”, the programs for the nursing homes, and the New Years Eve Gala with the High Desert Opera.  You all did an out-standing job! Great Dancing!!

On Sunday January 14th, the Auditions for the Joffrey Summer Intensives were held in our school. Valerie Madonia will direct the program in Milledgeville, Georgia; some students will attend a program in Michigan and in New York.  We had about 40 students from Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico attending this Audition Class with Valerie Madonia.

On Friday January 19th, dancers from our Performing Company – Stephanie Fiegel, Annie Harshman Rachael Horen, Alex Kramer, Laura Lockwood, Kirsten Peterson, Haley VanCamp, Natalie VanCamp, and Julia Williams, performed in Colorado Springs at the Broadmoor Hotel for the Colorado Chapter of the National Music Educators Association.  They danced several pieces to music by Carl Orff – accompanied by Bobe Morrison and other musicians from our Valley.  Our dancers received a standing ovation for their outstanding performance!!

On March 2, 3, and 4, Stephanie Fiegel, Alex Kramer, Laura Lockwood, and Julia Williams attended the Denver Ballet Guild.

These students had Master Classes with Mr. Franco De Vita, and attended a Performance of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet dancing Noir/Blanc Congratulations to Alex for placing in the top ten in his category of 72 dancers.  In December Alex also danced the lead role of Fritz in “The Nutcracker” with Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, in Aspen.

This summer, our school is going to offer a mini-intensive ballet pro-gram to advanced students in June and to student’s ages 7-14 in July.  Please see the information papers referring to these events.

We are excited to announce that we have started to work on an Original Story Ballet of the Dancing Princesses, Choreographed and Directed by Diane Revie assisted by Annie Harshman. The cast will be posted soon.  The date of this production will be announced later in the year.  All of our ballet students will be in this Ballet and you will be responsible for a nominal costume material fee.

We will have performances for nursing homes in the near future.  Watch for the dates.

As we continue to strive to bring the highest quality of dance education to our students we remind everyone to keep a quiet environment in the area surrounding our dance space.
